A telecom engineer by profession for the last 22 years Zalzala started writing poetries when he was in school. During his stint in college he developed a knack for Urdu writing and had written many Urdu poems, as all engineers in this part of the country write, for various obvious reasons that a college student writes. Professional twenty years impeded his writing for he was busy in his works and then finally in 2019 he restarted writing his Urdu and English poetries. Zalzala is very active in the open Mic circuit in Mumbai and has published many anthologies and few books on poetry. “Uff Ye Ishq” Is Zalzala’s fifth compilation on the aspect of Love which is an evergreen concept in Urdu poetry. Ghazals are one of the key part of the cultural in India since the end of the 18th century. This book consists of the collection of some Ghazals that are written in the Urdu language however in Devnagri script so that it is readable to more people. Ghazals are specific poetries that are in the form of couplets. The couplets are linked to each other in an abstract manner with a particular rhyming format. Ghazals formed an essential part of expression of feelings like love, happiness, betrayal, remorse etc in the form of couplets also called as Sher’s. The Ghazals in the book keep the sanctity of that platform also ending with a Maqta, where this is the inscription of the name of the poet. The pseudonym of the poet, often called as “Takhallus” is inscribed marking the end of each Ghazal. The book explores various kinds of emotions through Ghazals and has in the end a prose piece about the life of our Poet “ZalZala”.
