I dared to dream by Frederick Oduor

Still waters deep down a flowing stream

Too used to walking, wanted to fly

Out from somewhere rise

Fall a million times, give it a try

Unconscious, been high

Made me cry, life wasn't nice

Trudging along the path

Had to finish what I had begun

Move along, rays of the burning sun

How will they know I started if I couldn't finish it

Grind no time to sit

Past the horizon my past beat

Going never having to quit

One at a time, bit by bit

Sometimes hard, sometimes sweet

Tidy, everything neat

Choked on bone, wanted meat

Late nights

In within fights

Others flew kites

From the apple took a bite
